1 Sitemap index files (containing links to other sitemaps) are fully supported and will be crawled automatically.
2 All sitemap URLs you enter must belong to the same domain — including the same protocol (http vs https) and subdomain.
3 The lastmod tag is optional in sitemaps, but using it helps search engines prioritize recently updated content.
4 Keep individual sitemaps under 50,000 URLs and 50MB (uncompressed) as per the sitemap protocol specification.
