Google SERP Checker
See exactly what Google shows for any keyword, in any location — including AI Overviews, featured snippets, PAA, local packs, and more. Live data, not cached.
Google's search results page is not a list of ten blue links. For most keywords it's a layered stack of features: an AI-generated summary at the top, a featured snippet box, accordion questions, organic results interspersed with ads, a shopping carousel, forum posts, local business cards, video results, and related searches — all before users reach a standard organic listing.
What you see in your own browser makes it worse: Google personalises results based on your account, search history, and physical location. Your SERP is not your audience's SERP.
SERP.tools' Google SERP Checker fetches a live, unpersonalised result directly from Google. No cache. No approximations. Enter a keyword, choose a location, and get the full SERP in seconds — every element, rendered exactly as it appears to real users in that location.
Why live matters
Most SERP checkers cache their data — some update daily, some less often. A cached SERP is useful for trending analysis but misleading for current competitive research. Google's results shift after algorithm updates, content changes, and news events. A snapshot from yesterday may not reflect what a searcher sees today.
SERP.tools fetches results on demand, directly from Google. Every check is a fresh pull. You see the SERP as it exists at that moment, in that location, on that device.
What you get in each check
Organic results
Position, title, URL, and description for each ranking page — exactly as Google returns them. Up to 200 results per check. Sitelinks, FAQ accordions, and data tables inside organic listings are rendered when present.
AI Overview
Google's AI-generated summary appears in a growing number of searches. SERP.tools makes a dedicated second pass to capture it — because the AI Overview often loads asynchronously and is missed entirely by tools that only fetch the initial page response. The full text, source chips, favicons, and citation links are all rendered. If no AI Overview appears, the extra Limit cost is refunded automatically.
SERP features
See which features are present and what they contain: featured snippets with full answer text, People Also Ask with every question and answer, shopping product grids with prices and ratings, local business cards, knowledge panels, forum discussions, Perspectives articles, top stories, and related searches. Each type gets its own card. Filter tabs above the results let you isolate any feature type with a single click.
Full result copy — one click
A context-aware Copy dropdown in the results toolbar shows only the options relevant to the current SERP. Copy organic URLs, AI Overview text, AIO source citations, PAA questions, product URLs, or Perspectives article URLs — each as a clean, paste-ready list. Individual card headers also carry inline copy icons for section-by-section export.
Location, history & starred locations
Location-aware results
Search results vary significantly by location. A user in London sees different local packs, different featured snippets, and sometimes different organic rankings than a user in Warsaw or New York. Checking from a country-level location gives a broad picture; targeting a specific city gives you the local picture your local competitors are fighting for.
Use the location search to find any city, region, or country. Star your most-used locations and they appear at the top of the dropdown on every visit — no re-typing the same cities check after check.
Check history
Every check is saved to your account history (last 50 checks). See the keyword, location, device, and result count at a glance. Click any history entry to reload that result instantly — no new fetch, no extra Limits used. Delete individual entries with the trash icon.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between this and a rank tracker?
A rank tracker monitors where your own pages rank for specific keywords over time, usually checking once a day. The SERP Checker shows you the full current SERP for any keyword on demand — every result, every feature, every element Google returns. Use the SERP Checker for competitive research and content planning; a rank tracker for ongoing position monitoring.
Why do I see different Google results in my browser?
Google personalises results based on your account, search history, and location. What you see in your browser is not what your audience sees. SERP.tools fetches unpersonalised results, so you get the actual competitive landscape — not a filtered view shaped by your own browsing behaviour.
What is an AI Overview and why does it matter?
An AI Overview is Google's AI-generated summary that appears above organic results for a growing share of queries. It takes significant real estate above the fold and can dramatically reduce clicks to the organic listings below it. SERP.tools captures the full AI Overview text and sources — not just whether one exists, but what it actually says and which pages it cites.
Why does the AI Overview cost an extra Limit?
Google loads the AI Overview asynchronously after the main page response. Capturing it requires a second dedicated fetch. If Google doesn't serve an AI Overview for the keyword, the extra Limit is automatically refunded.
What does the Copy dropdown include?
It adapts to what's in the current SERP — options without data are hidden. Available options: AI Overview text, AIO source URLs, PAA questions, organic URLs, product URLs, Perspectives article URLs, and related searches. Individual card headers also carry inline copy icons.
How does location targeting work?
Search for any country, region, state, or city in the location field. Google serves different results depending on where the searcher is located — different local packs, featured snippets, and sometimes different organic rankings. Star the locations you use most to pin them at the top of the dropdown.
Can I see how results differ between desktop and mobile?
Yes. Select Desktop or Mobile before fetching. You can also select the OS (Windows, macOS, Android, iOS) for additional precision.
Is my history saved?
Yes — your last 50 checks are stored in your account. Click any history entry to reload that SERP without making a new API call and without using Limits. Delete entries individually with the trash icon.
How many results can I fetch?
Choose from 10, 20, 50, 100, or 200 results per check. The Limit cost is the same regardless of depth.
Why do I need an account?
Each check has a real cost. An account ties each check to your Limit balance, prevents abuse, and keeps the tool fast and available. The example result on the page shows exactly what you'll get before you sign up.
What is a SERP?
SERP stands for Search Engine Results Page — the full page Google returns for a search query. A SERP is not just ten organic results. Modern SERPs combine organic listings with AI-generated summaries, featured snippets, accordion questions, product carousels, forum threads, news articles, local business cards, video results, and related query suggestions. The exact mix depends on the keyword, location, device, and the moment in time.
For SEO, understanding the full SERP composition for a target keyword matters as much as knowing the organic rankings. A keyword with strong search volume may have an AI Overview and a featured snippet above the fold that capture most clicks before any organic listing is visible. Planning content without checking the actual SERP is planning blind.
What is a SERP feature?
SERP features are non-standard elements Google adds to search results beyond the basic organic list. They have expanded significantly since 2015 and now dominate many SERPs in terms of visible page real estate.
AI Overview
AI-generated answer at the top of the SERP. Increasingly common for informational queries. Cites sources and can significantly reduce clicks to organic results below.
Featured snippet
A single result highlighted above position 1, with the answer text displayed directly. Often called 'position zero.'
People Also Ask
An accordion of related questions with short answers. Expands on click, pushing organic results further down the page.
Local pack
A map block with three local business listings for queries with geographic intent.
Shopping results
Paid product listings with images, prices, and ratings for commercial queries.
Discussions & forums
Reddit, Quora, and other forum threads for how-to and community queries.
Perspectives
Third-party articles and creator content for opinion and review queries.
Top stories
News articles in a dedicated block for time-sensitive topics.
Knowledge panel
Information card for a known entity — a brand, public figure, or topic.
Video carousel
YouTube and other video results for tutorial and how-to queries.
Related searches
Suggested alternative queries at the bottom of the SERP.
When multiple features are present, organic listings may start at position 4 or 5 in terms of visual placement, even if they are ranked #1 technically. Checking the SERP before writing a content brief tells you what you are actually competing with for visible space.
